PME maintenance tasks fail with error 0x1F4 if IONMaintenance user is not added to the Administrators group

Issue
PME maintenance tasks fail with error 0x1F4 if IONMaintenance user is not added to the Administrators group

In the  SQL Error logs, you may see the following error
"Login failed for user 'ServerName\IONMaintenance'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database 'ION_Network'. [CLIENT: <local machine>]"



Facts

• If IONMaintenance user is added to windows administrator group, the tasks run successfully
• IONMaintenance user roles are correctly set up in SQL for the 4 PME databases
• IONMaintenance user has full write access to the  Backup destination folder
• IONMaintenance is a member of "Users" group

Cause
The privileges granted to the group BUILTIN\Users has higher priority over User privileges.

Resolution
In SQL, grant "db_backupoperator", "db_ddladmin" and "Maintenance" Membership for "BUILTIN\Users" for all PME databases
