EcoStruxure Process Expert [2020 R2] -How to rectify Failure of PLC Sim-Fatal Error on Windows Server 2016 operation System?

User installed EPE2020R2 on Windows Server 2016 environment. When User deployed a project to simulator and ends up facing the Fatal Error as shown below picture.



To rectify the above issue, user has to follow the below steps:

1.  Check the value of the registry in the mentioned path
For 32 bits Windows versions
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\sim.exe, Name "DisableExceptionChainValidation", dword:00000001  (Default value="0" change to "1")

For 64 bits Windows versions
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\sim.exe, Name “DisableExceptionChainValidation", dword:00000001. (Default value="0" change to "1")

2. Restart the machine and start the server proceed with user actions on the simulator


This is noticed in EPE2020R2. But it is applicable to all EPE version which are installed on Windows Server OS 2016
