Ecostruxure Process Expert [2021]: How to resolve "index was out of range" error while performing physical mapping

This knowledge base article explains user on how to resolve "index was out of range" error while performing physical mapping in Topology. This document is applicable for all versions of Ecostruxure Process Expert.

The below shown error appears when user tries to perform physical mappings from Topology.


This error can occur due to the CRA module which was configured in topology configuration with new version and is not identified by Ecostruxure Process Expert. If you expand the Topological Configuration of that particular rack, user can see "Unknown module" instead of CRA module.




This has happened due to the unavailability of particular version CRA template in Process expert which was configured in Configuration.

The solution is to update the foundation libraries to latest available version and reconfigure the CRA module in configuration. This time the CRA module will be detected, and the user can perform physical mapping without any issue. Foundation library can be found from the Ecostruxure Process Expert 2021 Software/FL and GPL Templates\Templates.
