Using the Bulk Edit Tool in RemoteConnect

The Bulk Edit tool in RemoteConnect allows users to efficiently apply changes to multiple database objects at once.

Use the Bulk Edit tool to update Object Name, Data Type, Logic Variable Type, Logic Task, Exclusive Logic Control, Group, DNP3 Static Group and Variation, DNP3 Point Number, Modbus Data Type and Modbus Registers.

Step‑By‑Step Procedure

1. Open your RemoteConnect project.
2. Under Configuration-SPx70 Controller>Objects>Object configuration Tab, Select multiple objects and click Bulk Edit

3. Review Bulk Edit window with Object List and Property Grid.
4. Modify parameters and apply changes. For example Change the Object Name of PIO_SP474_DI1 to Start and PIO_SP474_DI2 to Stop.
5. When adding a large number of DNP points or Modbus register addresses, you can streamline the process by using Microsoft Excel. Copy the required DNP points or Modbus register addresses from the spreadsheet, and then paste them into the Bulk Edit tool. To apply the pasted values, select all rows in which the data should be inserted before performing the paste operation.
6. Use the Ctrl+V keyboard shortcut to paste the Modbus registers.
7. Save the project and optionally write changes to RTU.
