Meter communication protocols

Cause
BACnet protocol is not a standard protocol with PowerLogic and ION meters.
Standard protocols include ION, Modbus TCP/IP, DNP 3.0.

Resolution
The EM3560, Branch Circuit Power Meter Type E (BCPME), iEM3000 Series (iEM3165, iEM3265, iEM3365, iEM3465, iEM35654) and EM4800 series (with firmware V1.46 Build 1105) are the only meters that natively support the BACnet protocol.

As of May 2016, PM5500 meters can support BACnet IP protocol with firmware V2.3.0 or higher.
As of June 2017, PM5340 meters can support BACnet IP protocol with firmware V2.1.0 or higher.

The HDPM6000 series supports the BACnet/IP protocol.

ION7400 series, PM8000 Series, and ION9000 series meters support Bacnet IP protocol with firmware version 4.6.0 or higher.

All other ION and PowerLogic meters do not support Bacnet and would require a 3rd party Modbus to BACnet converter to be used on a BACnet system.
