Schneider Electric, leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced the promotion of James Hunt to Vice President of Power Systems across the Pacific region.

James Hunt has moved up to the Vice President role from within Schneider Electric. The appointment will help drive Schneider Electric’s digital transformation and promotion of Ecostruxure solutions.

Schneider Electric, leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, has announced the promotion of James Hunt to Vice President of Power Systems across the Pacific region.

Since joining the organisation four years ago as General Manager for Solutions Sales, James has been instrumental in driving the Power Systems business. His contribution to the digital transformation and promotion of EcoStruxure solutions in Pacific has been highly commended across the organisation. Through this period, he also led the establishment of the Microgrid business in the Pacific.

With 20 years’ experience as a consultant within the energy industry, James has a strong background in leading teams with a proven ability to build and deliver successful transformation. Throughout his career, James has held a variety of sales leadership, operations and general management roles in energy services and energy businesses.

Schneider Electric Pacific Zone President, Gareth O’Reilly, welcomed the appointment: “During his time at Schneider Electric, James has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to leadership, innovation and the pursuit of more sustainable energy solutions. His work establishing and growing the Microgrids business in the Pacific region is a testament to that.

“This appointment is a powerful step in Schneider Electric’s ongoing commitment to provide value for its employees and customers. I wish him every success in this next assignment and look forward to seeing where he takes us next,” Mr O’Reilly said.

James has led Schneider Electric’s Power Systems sales in the private and industrial markets including Renewables, Transportation and Infrastructure, Mining and Materials and Oil and Gas. He will replace Simon Mouat who will be continuing his career outside of the organisation.

Speaking on his appointment, James Hunt commented: “In my capacity as Vice President, I look forward to contributing to Schneider Electric’s global approach of supporting our customers as they navigate the twin challenges of digital transformation and disruption of the energy industry. I can’t think of a more exciting time to be leading a business in the energy space. The generation mix is shifting rapidly, not only to incorporate renewables but also toward decentralised energy systems. All of this requires digitisation and a rethink on control and automation and challenges historical models of both electricity distribution and retail.”

Founded in France over 180 years ago, Schneider Electric is recognised as a leading international force in the energy, innovation and technology sector. Its energy, automation and digital solutions work to challenge conventions within the sector while delivering consistent results for their customers.

Schneider Electric has operations spanning every state in Australia with over 137 thousand employees worldwide.
