Demonstrating Edge Forwarding Configuration on a SCADAPack 47xi

Edge Forwarding allows a user to access the Linux board while being connected to one of the RTU Ethernet Ports (ETH1 or ETH2)

For this example, Enable SSH Server (Edge Platform) under Ethernet >  Services.

Configuration tab > IP Communications> Services: SSH Service Enabled

ETH1 on SP474i was configured for 10.10.10.11 and Enable Edge Forwarding was checked off.

Ethernet 1 Settings: Enable Edge Forwarding checked off

The PC Ethernet port was configured for IP address 10.10.10.100 to be part of the same network subnet and it could ping ETH1 of the SCADAPack without issue.

Now, using Putty with SSH targeting the RTU board 10.10.10.11

Hot to setup Putty to access the Edge board

And with the Mode switch (rotary dial) set to F=PRVL, the user could log in as root using the appropriate password to access the Edge board.

If the Mode switch (rotary dial ) were set to 0=LOCAL, the user could attempt to login to the Edge board but access would be denied.
