Issue
The customer is interested in obtaining the displacement power factor value from one of the advanced ION architecture meters.

Environment
PM8000, ION7400, ION9000, ION9000TS, ION7x50, ION8650

Cause
By design, although the meter supports both displacement and true power factor, only the true power factor is displayed on the meter’s front panel. [1]

Resolution
One of the arithmetic modules (Arithmetic Module 11 in the PM8000 and ION9000 meters, assuming the default Template connections have not been modified) outputs the mean displacement power factor (DPF mean) for all three phases.

Armed with this information, you can configure a custom screen on the meter that connects to the arithmetic module and displays the displacement power factor. Instructions for configuring a custom screen can be found in article FA253222.
