Issue
ION8600 and ION8650 meter shows message "CONFIGURATION MODE LOCKED OUT" on front panel

Cause
Upon attempting to view or configure the meter from the front panel by holding down the ALT/ENTER key, the message "INFORMATION CONFIGURATION MODE LOCKED OUT" appears and holds on the screen until timing out.

Environment
ION Setup.

RESOLUTION
Configuring ION8600/8650 via the front panel has been set to be disallowed. Access the meter via communications using ION Setup or PME's Designer. Find the Display Options module and change the setting of the setup register called "Front Panel Programming" to "Allowed".
