Is an external thermal overload protection needed to be installed with an ATS01?

Cause:
N/A

Resolution:
The ATS01 softstart does not provide motor overload protection.  Separate overload thermal protection should be added to the power circuit.  This typically is done with a motor starter upstream of the ATS01.
