- Starting Current: The Starting Current is the minimum current level at which the meter begins to register and measure current flow. This means that while starting current can be measured, the accuracy of that measurement may not match the stated accuracy for meter current. For example, Starting Current in ION9000, is 1 milliamp (mA) which is beneficial for detecting very low levels of current. It ensures that even small amounts of current are detected and measured, which is important for applications where low current detection is necessary, but may not match the stated accuracy.
- Specified Accuracy Current Range: The Specified Accuracy Current Range indicates the current levels within which the meter can measure with its specified accuracy.
For example, the Specified accuracy current range in ION9000 is 10mA – 20A, this means it can accurately measure(IEC61557-12 Class0.1) currents from 10 milliamps (mA) to 20 amps (A). Operating within the stated accuracy range ensures that the meter provides reliable and precise readings. If the current falls outside this range, the accuracy of the measurements may not be guaranteed.
