How to create an M221 controller image for an SD card in SoMachine Basic?
Issue:
This is a step by step procedure on how to create an M221 controller image for an SD card in SoMachine Basic and download it to an M221 controller

Product Line:

Environment:
SoMachine Basic and Machine Expert Basic

Cause:
To have a simple procedure to generate the files for an SD card and then download them to an M221 controller

Resolution
1. Open SoMachine Basic and open your project.
2. Go to the Commissioning tab and then click on the the Memory Management menu.
3. For Action select Create Controller image. For Destination / PC navigate to your empty SD card that was inserted into your PC. This is where your files will be generated.
Note: You have the option to include the firmware files on your SD card. You also have the option to erase the post configuration file located on your controller.
4. Click on Create Controller Image. Your files will be generated onto the SD card: one script.cmd file, one sys folder and one usr folder.
Notes:
The compiled code will will be located in the usr/app folder and the name of the file will be Project.smbk.
If the "Include program" and "Erase post configuration file" checkboxes were checked, the script file edited in Notepad will look like this:

Delete "/usr/cfg"
Download "/usr/app"

The procedure to transfer the generated files to the M221 is:

5. Remove power from the controller.
6. Insert the prepared SD card in the controller.
7. Restore power to the controller.
Result: Copying of the application file begins. During the operation, the SD system LED on the logic controller is illuminated.
Note: Avoid removing power from the logic controller while the operation is in progress.
8. Wait until the end of the operation (until the SD LED is off or flashing). If an error is detected, the SD and ERR LEDs flash and the detected error is logged in Script.log file.
9. Remove the SD card to restart the controller.
