Issue:

Is it possible to work alarms in Excel and then import the alarms in EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert.

Product Line:

EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert (all versions)

Resolution:

There is no export/import option that would allow you to work the Alarms sheet outside of EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert.

But there is a workaround that can be used:

In Machine SCADA Expert:

Create or open the Alarms sheet.

Add a few alarms to it to have some examples of each types of alarms to be created.

With the mouse, select all the alarms in the sheet and do a copy. (CTRL-C or right click - Copy)

Open Excel and paste all the alarms of the sheet into a spreadsheet. (CTRL-V or right click - Paste)

Modify the spreadsheet to add or modify the alarms.

Once the modifications done. Select all the alarms in the spreadsheet and copy/paste in the Alarms sheet of Machine SCADA Expert.

Notes:

If some tag names do not exist in Machine SCADA Expert, there will be a prompt asking to create them.

This workaround will have to be used for each Alarms sheets of the Machine SCADA Expert project.

Sometime, the shortcuts CTRL-C and CTRL-V do not work in Machine SCADA Expert. Use the right click button in this situation.
