HMIST6500, Operator Terminal Expert - Time limit for the clock setting.
Issue:
Why is there a limit for the clock setting. This means that passed Jan 18-2038 the clock will stop functioning?
Product Line:
EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert (all versions), All Harmony, non Windows HMI.
Resolution:
In the EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert help, we can fins the below information in regards to the maximum limit on the date and time.
This is related to the Year 2038 problem. See below the Wikipedia link on this subject for more information.

R&D provided the more specific information in regards to this problem and a potential workaround:
The 2038 is the maximum value of UNIX time.
If this value is exceeded, an overflow will occur, causing the time to stop or the value to reset to 0 and return to 1901,
which could cause the system to malfunction.
Basically no workaround, by 2038 the development team will usually plan to change, design the software to support 2038 and beyond (e.g. support to 64 bit).
For now, there is no plan for this requirement.
