Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 2024 "Unauthorized access attempt by..." Cannot see Realtime data in Vista & Web applications.

In Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 2024, real time data cannot be seen in the web application diagrams & the Vista application. An error message is seen in the system logs "unauthorized access attempt by [windows integrated authentication account].."

Cause
In Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 2024, it is a requirement to add user's Windows accounts in the web applications User manager, in order to view real-time data in the PME web application and Vista application. Steps to add the user account can be found in the PME 2024 System Guide. (Note: There is an additional step to edit the realtime.config file for PME systems that are database distributed, systems with a secondary server, and systems with an engineering client.)

In PME installations using Windows Integrated Authentication, the Windows account that is used to access the database is also used to run the PME services and the IIS Application Pools. This account must also be added to the Web applications user manager (and the realtime.config file if the PME is distributed).

Resolution
Follow the steps in the Adding Windows account permission to enable the real-time data and ensure the Windows Integrated Authentication account is added.
