Note: There isn't a way to open a previously exported .xml with OPC Selector in Device Type Editor. If you want to expose additional measurements after following this procedure once, you'll need to reselect all of the measurements you want to expose, then replace the file in the …\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\system\IONServices\DefaultMeasurementsExt folder each time.
1. Open Management Console > Tools > System > Device Type Editor:
2. File > Open, then navigate to …\Power Monitoring Expert\config\translators:
3. Open the .ion file for the device type you want to expose measurements to the OPC server.
4. Open Tools > Expose OPC Measurements.
5. Select a measurement, then click the >> button to move it to the right pane. Repeat for the remaining desired measurements.
6. Click Save.
7. Navigate to …\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\system\IONServices\DefaultMeasurementsExt.
8. Save the file in this folder.
- Note: You may get a permissions error. If so, save the file to your Desktop or another location then copy/paste it into the …\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\system\IONServices\DefaultMeasurementsExt folder.
9. Open File Explorer and confirm the exported file is saved to the folder:
10. Navigate to …\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\config\IONServices, then make a copy of the IONServicesConfiguration.xml file to have as a backup. If this folder doesn’t exist, skip this step:
11. Open Management Console > Tools > System > select Update OPC Server.
