Issue:

How can we configure an automatic logon at Windows startup on a HMIG5U22?


Product Line:

All Windows based HMIs.


Resolution:

Before applying the below procedure, it is required to disable the EWF or UWF filter (depending on Windows version) for the changes to be saved.

Once terminated, do re-enable the UWF filter.


Setting Up Auto Login


Using Netplwiz (Advanced User Accounts)

  1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type netplwiz and press Enter.
  3. In the User Accounts window, select the account you want to log in with automatically.
  4. Uncheck the box that says "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer."
  5. Click Apply.
  6. A prompt will pop up asking for your account username and password.
  7. Type your password, confirm it, and click OK
