Schneider Electric and Tottenham Hotspur Foundation Launch Transformative STEM Programme for Primary School Pupils

  • Bespoke, dynamic curriculum designed to ignite curiosity and creativity for STEM through practical sessions
  • Digital platform provides resources, tutorials and continuous learning opportunities
  • Finals Day will be held at F1® DRIVE London, located at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where pupils will showcase their work

Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is partnering with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s charitable foundation, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, on its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) educational outreach programme, to be launched in the summer term of 2025.

The programme aims to inspire pupils from 12 participating local primary schools, providing them with opportunities to develop essential STEM skills in an interactive and engaging way.

Featuring topics in the National Curriculum, the programme will equip pupils with knowledge and understanding in areas critical to the energy transition and today’s fast-evolving technology landscape, including: Robotics and Machine Control, Sustainable Energy, Energy Efficiency and eMobility.

Interactive workshops will allow pupils to explore these important STEM concepts in practical and exciting ways, while immersive Challenge Days will encourage teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving for issues inspired by real-world scenarios. Sessions will be supported by employees at Schneider Electric as part of a company-wide volunteering initiative, enabling hands-on engagement in their professional fields.

Pupils as well as teachers will also have access to a Learning Management System (LMS), a digital platform which provides resources, tutorials, and continuous learning opportunities. To further support this initiative, training sessions will equip teachers with the tools and knowledge needed to inspire and guide their pupils in STEM subjects.

To conclude the STEM programme, which will last nine weeks, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation will host a ‘Finals Day’ event using techniques learned at F1® DRIVE London, the world’s first in-stadium electric karting facility located under Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s iconic South Stand.

The initiative comes amid Schneider Electric’s partnership with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club as it operates and maintains one of the most technologically advanced stadiums in the world while supporting its journey to net-zero. Using 100 per cent renewable energy to power all electrical equipment on site, its award-winning stadium is regarded as a global benchmark for design and innovation and the club has been named as the Premier League’s greenest club for five successive years since 2020.

“We need to inspire talent from an early age if we are truly going to harness the potential of the energy transition. Our work with Tottenham Hotspur highlights the huge opportunities these skills have on creating positive and impactful environmental change, and we are excited to expand our partnership to educate and empower the local community on this, said Kelly Becker, President, Schneider Electric UK and Ireland, Belgium and Netherlands. “Initiatives such as these will prove vital in equipping the next generation with the skills needed to develop scalable, equitable, and efficient energy solutions for a sustainable future.”

"We’re really excited to launch this programme in collaboration with Schneider Electric," said Andrew Wands, Education Manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation. "Our goal is to create a stimulating environment in which local students can explore STEM subjects in hands-on and engaging ways, as part of our wider work helping young people prepare for their futures.”
