Issue
In Vijeo Designer, what is the XBTF Compatibility option in target property inspector used for?
Product Line
Vijeo Designer
Environment
HMI Configuration Software for Windows
Resolution
The XBTF compatibility option is only intended for users of Vijeo Designer that have migrated from XBTL1000 using the Switch2Vijeo application converter.
The option changes the runtime behavior of the dialog table in order to give the user the exact same behaviors as XBTL1000 in regards to how the HMI writes to the PLC during 1 dialog table cycle.
In XBTL1000, the there is no "Write Queue". What this means is that if there are 10 writes executed very quickly, it is not guaranteed that all 10 values will be written to the PLC.
In Vijeo Designer, we have a "Write Queue" (buffered write requests to a PLC in HMI memory) where by all requested writes are stored and are ensured to be written. So if there are 10 writes executed very quickly, all 10 values are written to the PLC
At Runtime, a large "Write queue" can slow down a process due to communication latency. For this reason, we created the option "XBTF compatibility" to turn off the Write-Queue, specifically for the dialog table only.
Our recommendation is that if you have not converted over from XBTL1000, do not have this property activated.
