What can I use as a smaller alternative to the CA3KN or CA2KN range?
Products with part numbers CA3KN or CA2KN are control relays from the TeSys K range with 4 contacts. Schneider Electric also offers the smaller CA2SK or CA3SK with just 2 contacts.
The K relay has 4 auxiliary contacts in the following configurations:
- 4 N/O & 0 N/C
- 3 N/O & 1 N/C
- 2 N/O & 2 N/C
The part number format for the K relay is CAuKNvwxy, where:
u = 2 (AC coil) or 3 (DC coil)
v = number of N/O contacts
w = number of N/C contacts
The last two characters, xy, indicate the coil voltage e.g. BD = 24V DC, P7 = 230V AC
So for an AC control relay with 3 N/O & 1 N/C contacts and a 230V coil, the part number would be CA2KN31P7.
The SK relay has 2 auxiliary contacts in the following configurations:
- 2 N/O & 0 N/C
- 1 N/O & 1 N/C
The part number format for the SK relay is CAuSKvwxy, where:
u = 2 (AC coil) or 3 (DC coil)
v = number of N/O contacts
w = number of N/C contacts
The last two characters, xy, indicate the coil voltage e.g. BD = 24V DC, P7 = 230V AC
So for a DC control relay with 2 N/O & 0 N/C contacts and a 24V coil, the part number would be CA3SK20BD.
Note: It is possible to add additional contacts to both the K and the SK relays, please follow the link below to the catalogue to see these options
