How can we help you today?

Importing a .cpx file that has the same product name as the one installed by Unity fails.

If you try to import a new version CAN Open device that has the same name as one that is already installed with CE, the import will fail and there is no way to delete the existing Schneider Electric CAN Open device.

The following workaround can be used to import the new version of the device.

  • Open the .cpx file using 7zip.
  • Extract the file .dpx file and open it with 7zip.
  • Extract the '.eds file and rename it.

  • Open the renamed '.eds' file with Notepad.
  • Change the Filename to the renamed file name.
  • Change the 'Product Name'.
  • Save the changes.

Import the 'eds' file using the Hardware Catalog Manager.

  • Right click on 'CANopen drop'.
  • Select 'Add Device'.

  • Browse for the '.eds' file.
  • Click on 'Open'.

The renamed device will be shown under 'Other'.
