Issue
Older formatted Custom Models cannot be uploaded to the PAS600 with firmware version 2.4.0 and newer.
Product Line
PAS600
Environment
Hardware
Cause
When firmware version 2.4.0 was released, the Custom Model format updated for efficiencies in building Custom Models and customer conveniences.
Resolution
Because the firmware on the PAS600 cannot return to older versions, the only solution is to update the Custom Model files to be accepted on the newer firmwares. On the EPC-W Custom Model Creator Website, old data Custom Model formats can be transformed into new data Custom Model formats.
To begin converting to the new data Custom Model format, go to the EPC-W website, go to the "My Models" page for Custom Models. On this webpage, you can identify "Legacy" or older format Custom Models by finding a white flag icon next to the custom model, in the My Models' list:
Click on the white flag that corresponds to the custom model file you would like to update and view the Model Compatibility Notice:
After viewing the Compatibility Notice, adjust the state of the Legacy/older custom model file to "Limited Release" or "Global Release":
With the custom model in one of the states mentioned above, create a new version of the Custom Model:
RETAINING DATA NOTE (1/2): In order to keep from losing data within the Panel Server through a firmware update for an existing device, you MUST export and upload the new custom model file with the exact name as the old custom model file.
Once the new version is created, export it:
This custom model file can now be uploaded to PAS600's with firmware versions 2.4.0 and newer.
RETAINING DATA NOTE (2/2): If a Legacy (older) Custom Model existed in the Panel Server when uploading the new Custom Model, the new custom model file will be displayed in the "Available Version" column. You must click on the 3 stacked dots icon and switch the Custom Model from LEGACY to NEW to keep all of the data previously stored in the Panel Server.
