What is the difference between a bar type CT and a window type CT?
Issue:
What is the difference between a bar type CT and a window type CT?

Product Line:
Current Transformers

Resolution:
A bar type CT is an in-line CT, much more costly and is mounted in line with the bus bars (bolted on both sides). The bar type CT is fully insulated to the switchgear voltage. A window type CT is rated at 600 volts and has the incoming or outgoing insulated/shielded cables pulled through it. The high voltage shielded cables are pulled through the hole or ``window`` in the middle of the CT. This type CT is much less costly than the bar type.
