The illustrated note on service bulletin 8291-0014D for an SDSA1175 surge suppressor (included in the box) indicates that it should not be mounted in a standard load center knockout. Is that not allowable?
It is OK to use an SDSA1175 mounted in a load center knockout. The service bulletin note should read as follows: ``The secondary surge arrester must be installed in an accessible location (not within walls). When installing secondary surge arrester inside a FLUSH MOUNTED QO or HOM load center, do not use an enclosure knockout. Use optional QOSAMK surge arrester mounting kit. Refer to instructions included with the QOSAMK kit.``
