Can a Model 6 LVMCC unit be installed in a Model 5 LVMCC section?

Yes, but there are exceptions.
The only unit (feeder or starter) that can be mounted below the top shelf is the Compact 6" unit because the 6" units do not have butterfly handles for inserting the unit. The 12" units are larger and need the post (nib) on the midshelf to be able to insert the unit.
For Model 5 MCCs manufactured prior to May of 1992, you will require the old style midshelf part number 8045086550 when ordering a ready to assemble item from the Digest.
When placing a factory assembled order, provide the existing Model 5 LVMCC factory order number (found on the UL structure nameplate label) and the appropriate midshelf will be provided along with the unit.
