Will the display still be active if a ModBus network is attached to the ATS48 or ATS22?
Resolution:
The ATS48 and ATS22 soft starters include a built-in display on the control board. The RJ‑45 port can be used either to connect a remote-mounted display keypad or to enable Modbus communication.
Even when the RJ‑45 port is used for Modbus communication or a remote keypad, the local display on the soft starter remains fully operational.
However, the RJ‑45 port is a single shared port and cannot support both a remote keypad and Modbus communication at the same time. To use both functions simultaneously, a port expander is required. Schneider Electric does not offer a port expander for this purpose, so a third‑party solution would be needed to support multiple Modbus network masters.
As an alternative, motor monitoring can be achieved by using a TeSys T motor management system.
