Do heavy duty, single throw safety switches have a color coded handle to indicate the ON or OFF position of the switch?
Issue:
Looking for ON and OFF indication on the handle of the safety switches.
Product Line:
Safety Switches
Resolution:
Yes, heavy duty safety switches (single throw only) feature a color coded handle to indicate the ON or OFF position of the switch. When the switch is ON and is viewed from the front, the handle shows mostly red. When the switch is OFF, the handle shows mostly black.
NOTE: This indication should NOT be used to positively identify the position of the blades in the switch. For positive identification, refer to the OSHA Lock-out/Tag-out procedure and NFPA 70 when verifying whether a switch is on or off.
