When is isolated power required?

Issue:
Isolated Power, when is it needed?

Product Line:
Hospital Isolated Power Systems

Environment:
NFPA99, NEC517.160

Cause:
Codes and Standards

Resolution:
In wet procedure locations in hospitals, special protection against electrical shock is required, and this is attainable by using Class A GFCI or an isolated power system. For electrical safety, the NEC recommends isolated power systems, which should be installed whenever a power outage cannot be tolerated during a ground fault condition.
