What is the maximum number of devices that can be cascaded via the Ethernet port of a PM5500/PM8000 series meter?

Issue

The PM5500 and PM8000 series meters have two Ethernet ports on the same body which allow users to cascade meters in a single network with less wire and communication equipment such as hubs or switches.
Product Line
PM5000, PM5500, PM5560, PM5563
PM8240, PM8243, PM8244
Environment
Ethernet Communications
Cause

The user may require information on limiting factors when cascading devices via Ethernet.
Resolution
Each meter has a unique IP address, so depending on the network supporting the devices, the number could be extremely large. It is similar to asking how many computers can be on a network. In essence, the network is the limiting factor. Therefore there is no number of devices that can be definite.
Note: When used for 10Base-T/100Base-TX applications, the maximum allowed length of CAT5/5e UTP cable is up to 100 meters (328 ft).
