What Is the Trip (Fault) Status of Terminals 15 and 16 on an S-Flex Drive?

Resolution:

On an S-Flex (ATV212-based) drive, terminals 15 (FLC) and 16 (FLB) form a normally closed relay contact when configured for Trip operation.

  • During normal operation (no fault, power applied):
    The contact opens.
  • When a fault (trip) occurs:
    The contact closes.
  • When drive power is removed:
    The contact also closes.

This behavior allows the relay to signal a fault condition or loss of power to external control or monitoring circuits.
