Unable to assign an IP address to a Unity Momentum PLC using a Bootp or DHCP server

Issue
A user is unable to assign an IP address to a Unity Momentum PLC right out of the box using a Bootp or DHCP server.

Product Line
This issue affects Unity Momentum processor models:
171CBU98090
171CBU98091

Resolution
The Unity Momentum PLC did not send out any bootp or DHCP requests when it was powered up right out of the box and would assume its default IP address.
  • The issue was fixed in a patch firmware version 1.21, released in December 2015.
  • Continuous Bootp requests on an Ethernet II frame type will now occur upon power up of a module without an IP Address assigned.
  • The firmware is now installed in the 171CBU98090 and 171CBU98091 on modules with a DOM of 1606 (6th week of 2016) and later.
