Unable to ping an ION8650 over a cellular modem
Issue
The ION8650 has a valid Cellular IP address, but ping, tracert and telnet commands are unsuccessful.

Cause
The ION8650 cellular modem doesn’t allow pings or any other commands/protocol excepts for the ones defined under Cellular Protocol Options within the meter’s communication setup. These protocols can be either ION, Modbus TCP and/or DNP 3.0.
Resolution
To test the Cellular modem’s connectivity, Use the appropriate software platform that will allow you to communicate over the defined protocol. Refer to FA277446 for further information.
