Why I get a popup error message “The simulator does not answer” when starting the simulator of SoMachine/Machine Expert - Basic ?

The SoMachine/Machine Expert - Basic Simulator uses TCP port 502 and this port may be used by any other Software application (Example: Twidosuite, Unity Simulator, etc.).

To check if the port 502 is already reserved by another Software application, execute the command "netstat- anbp tcp" in a CMD session (see the result in attached screenshot) and then close/delete such application using the port 502 before starting the SoMachine/Machine Expert - Basic Simulator.
