Is the ATV340 tested and approved for use on Single phase input to run 3 phase motors?
No.
The ATV340 has not been tested or approved for use on single-phase power systems.
It requires 3-phase AC input power or DC power direct to the DC bus.
There are currently no plans to perform single phase AC testing for the ATV340 series drives.
It is possible to feed the DC Bus of the ATV340 drive so a front-end rectifier may be used. Bonitron (http://www.bonitron.com/) has provided this type of device for years.
