Resolution:
The 2 letters printed on the thermal units like EE, AB represents the Date Codes - Old System Code Information. The first letter refers to the month, A being January, B February C March etc. and the second letter refers to the year: A for 1971, B 1972, C 1973, D 1974... X 1991 and goes back again to A 1992 and so on. The letters Y and Z are not used in the old date code system.
