When an I-Line panel is being fed by dual power sources (Generator, UPS, etc.) and a main utility feed, can a mechanical interlock be used between these back-fed main breakers so only 1 breaker can be energized at a time?

Resolution:
A mechanical interlock should never be used when a panel is being fed by 2 separate sources. Some kind of key locking device needs to be used. A key interlock needs to be used on both breakers.
