How do the 8501KL and 8501KLD latching relays operate?

Issue:
How do the 8501KL and 8501KLD latching relays operate?

Product Line:
Relays and Timers

Environment:
8501 Type K Latching relays
Cause:
Need to know how the 8501KL and 8501KLD latching relays operate.

Resolution:
They are a single coil device.  The AC version has a DC coil with 2 input diodes that clip the AC input signal.   Power applied to the latch terminal will latch it and power applied to the unlatch terminal will unlatch it. On the DC version a reversing the polarity enables the device to latch and unlatch.
