Can the X Series Wiring Devices use aluminum wire?

No. X Series Wiring Devices are not rated for use with solid aluminum wire. They are designed for use with Copper wire (Cu) and, where indicated, Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA) wire (e.g., toggle switches and duplex receptacles).

Always refer to the installation instructions for wire size and conductor type compatibility.
