Can you backstab an X or XD series 15A receptacle with 12 gauge wire?
No, 15A receptacles only accept 14AWG solid copper wire in the push-in holes. It is best practice to use the side pressure plates which will accept the 12AWG straight wire and more securely capture the wire when the screws are tightened.
