Although each NQ200AN neutral lug kit provides two #4 AWG to 300 kcmil terminals, why might one NQ200AN be installed for each 175 A or 200 A QO(VH) branch circuit breaker in a 400 A or 600 A NQ Panelboard?
Issue:
Use NQ200AN neutral kit for each 175A or 200A QO(VH) branch circuit breaker in a 400A or 600A NQ Panelboard.

Product Line:
NQ Panelboard

Environment:
Application

Resolution:
Per the NQ/MQM Panelboards Information Manual (80043-712-06), QO2175, QO2200, QO2175VH, or QO2200VH circuit breakers are to be placed next to the line end and at least four circuit spaces of blank fillers or circuit breakers of 125 A or lower must be installed before another 150 – 200 A QO(VH) circuit breaker is installed.  As this restriction encourages placement of 150 – 200 A QO(VH) circuit breakers in a checkerboard pattern, it is common for the first two QO2175, QO2200, QO2175VH, or QO2200VH circuit breakers in a NQ Panelboard to be on opposite sides of the interior, increasing the required length and bending complexity of the neutral wire for one of these branch circuit breakers, unless a NQ200AN is installed on both sides of the split neutral assembly in the panelboard.
