Why does my UPS report erroneous bypass alarms on the NMC web interface?

Issue: The UPS may report erroneous bypass alarms on the NMC web interface, even if the UPS does not have a bypass feature or it is not actually transferring in or out of bypass operation mode.

Examples of alarms reported:
"Device   UPS: Return from bypass, internal hardware fault no longer present.        0x01B2"
"Device   UPS: In bypass in response to an internal hardware fault.              0x011B"

Product Line: Smart-UPS with Network Management Card (NMC) 3

Environment: Network Management Card firmware version 2.2.0.1

Resolution: This issue has been addressed in NMC3 firmware version 2.2.1.1. Please update the firmware of your NMC3 to the latest version.

The latest NMC3 firmware is available on apc.com. Refer to the below example on how to find and download the NMC3 firmware, and to FA156047 for instructions on upgrading the NMC3 firmware.
