Resolution:

NEMA AB3 is an application guide, not a design standard. In other words, NEMA AB3 is a standard for breakers on how they are applied or used, not on how they were manufactured.

All of Square-D’s UL 489 breakers comply to NEMA AB1 standard. The NEMA AB1 is the design standard.
