Is there an arc flash rating for panelboards?

Arc flash rating of NQ panelboards

NQ, NF and I-line panelboards

Answer:

Panelboards do not have an arc flash rating. An arc flash study has to be conducted on the system by an electrical studies engineer who will be able to simulate and evaluate the system under different scenarios and most importantly, provide suggestions to mitigate arc flash.


If needing an Arc Flash study, Services are required. Services are required for Arc Flash studies and prevention.
