ETE - FAQ - Platform: Does the EcoStruxure Transformer Expert work with Synthetic Esters or Silicone Fluids?

Silicon fluids are not supported in the application and its not in our road map currently.

Esters and silicone fluids are both K class (non-flammable), making them ideal for applications where fire safety is critical. However, esters (both synthetic and natural) offer superior environmental protection. Silicone is also notoriously prone to leakage and, once in the environment, takes an extremely long time to degrade. For this reason, silicone fluids have now been replaced in industry by esters, as they are non-toxic and fully biodegradable.

EcoStruxure Transformer Expert is suitable and tested for Synthetic & Natural Esters, only requiring the configuration to be set in the dashboard.
