Can you manually make the alarm contacts on a SPD change state for testing?

If the SPD has a test button next to the alarm / buzzer LED, pushing it will change the LEDs on the display to red, and make the contacts change state. If there is no test button, there is no way to manually make the contacts change state without an actual alarm
