Issue:
When attempting to integrate the Edge I/O NTS DTM with an M580 controller in Schneider Electric’s Control Expert v16, the link fails during DTM configuration.
Cause:
- The firmware version of the Edge I/O device is incompatible with Control Expert v16.
- The required minimum firmware version is V4.40 or higher for successful integration.
- Network security tools (e.g., Zscaler) or incorrect IP settings may block communication.
Solution:
Verify Firmware Version:
- Ensure the Edge I/O device firmware is V4.40 or later.
- If not, update the firmware using Schneider Electric’s official firmware upgrade procedure.
Update DTM Catalog:
- Make sure the latest DTM library for Edge I/O is installed in Control Expert v16.
- Restart Control Expert after updating the catalog.
Test Communication:
- After applying the above steps, reattempt linking the Edge I/O NTS DTM to the M580 controller.
- Validate by performing a parameter read/write test.
