Resolution
- Reasons for Updating Firmware
Firmware updates are regularly released to address security vulnerabilities, maintain remote access certificate validity, introduce new features, fix bugs, and ensure compliance and compatibility
Security Patches
Firmware updates include critical security patches that protect the device from vulnerabilities. Schneider Electric signs all firmware using its public key infrastructure to ensure integrity and authenticity.
New Features and Bug Fixes
Updates provide the latest features, performance improvements, and fixes for known issues. This ensures optimal functionality and compatibility with other EcoStruxure components.
Remote Access Certificate Validity
Schneider Electric’s remote access certificates are tied to specific firmware versions and have expiration dates. If the firmware is outdated, remote support may not work. For example, version 002.001.000 is valid only until 24 November 2025, while newer versions extend validity further.
Compliance and Compatibility
Updating ensures compatibility with the latest EcoStruxure Power Commission software and other connected devices in the switchboard.
- EcoStruxure Panel Server firmware upgrade procedure
It is considered good practice to periodically check for the latest firmware updates on se.com, especially when troubleshooting issues. One of the first questions to ask when a problem arises is whether your EcoStruxure Panel Server (EPaS) is running the most up-to-date firmware.
a. Where and How to Check the Firmware Version?
You can find the firmware version of an EPaS through its web interface using a compatible browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.
Steps:
- Connect your EPaS directly to a laptop or computer or via your network
- Open the browser and enter the EPaS IP address in the format:
https://<IP Address> - Log in using your Username and Password.
- On the login page, the EPaS displays system information, including the firmware version, as shown in the example image below.

Visit SE.com to confirm whether your current firmware is the latest version for your EPaS hardware. If it is not up to date, download the appropriate Firmware (F) and Hardware (HW) files based on your EPaS model:
- Entry Level: EPaS 400 series
- Universal Level: EPaS 600 series
- Advanced Level: EPaS 800 series
Once downloaded, proceed with the upgrade process.

The actual firmware on the PAS600L above is version 2.3.0 ( F: v2.3.0 and HW: v1.0.0) whereas the latest firmware from SE.COM is v2.4.0, therefore we need firmware update on this :
