What is a BYF2 error on an ATS490 softstarter?
This fault indicates that the internal contacts in the ATS490 are not closing as expected. When the soft start completes the ramp cycle, the R2 relay should energize to pull in the shorting contactor. If the relay contacts are stuck or fail to close, the BYF2 fault will be triggered. No programming is required for this function to operate.
