Where can I locate the MAC address, serial number (SN), and default device name of the HDPM6000 meter?

Issue

Some users may require knowing the MAC address, SN, and default name of the HDPM6000 to add it in their Network.

Cause

The HDPM6000 MAC address, serial number, default name is not written on the meter nameplate label.

Resolution

Some customer network policies require knowing a device’s MAC (Media Access Control) address in advance before assigning an IP address—especially when using a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server to manage IP address allocation.

For this reason, both the TrendPoint version and the Schneider Electric HDPM6000 meters provide the MAC address (unique to each device on the network), the serial number (SN), and the default device name (hostname). These identifiers also help distinguish the TrendPoint version from the Schneider Electric version.

This information can be found through the meter’s web interface, as illustrated below:

HDPM6000 Trend Point version (Old)

MAC Address: b8:bd:79:00:fc:42

Serial number: BBO052100936

Hostname: Enkapsis- BBO052100936

HDPM6000 Schneider Electric version (New)

MAC Address: b8:bd:79:01:01:94

Serial number: SEA032000261

Hostname: Enkapsis- SEA032000261

To distinguish the TrendPoint version from the Schneider Electric version, check the Serial Number and the Hostname:

TrendPoint units: Serial numbers begin with “BBO…”
Schneider Electric units: Serial numbers begin with “SEA…”

Because this information is only accessible from the device’s Web Interface, follow the steps below:

Use the meter’s default IP address and subnet mask:

IP Address: 10.10.10.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Configure your laptop or computer with a compatible IP address and subnet:

Example: 10.10.10.7
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Open the HDPM6000 Web Interface by entering the following URL into your browser:
https://10.10.10.4
Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge
Note: Internet Explorer is not supported.
Navigate to the “General” tab to view the Serial Number, MAC Address, and Hostname.
