How do I troubleshoot a VFD/soft start when the VW3A1111 keypad displays codes instead of full text or say "these files are corrupted"?

When a VFD has a VW3A1111 graphic keypad connected, it only shows codes on the display, such as: QUI, HOM, DAC, LMD, MPA, and so on.

You will need the following for these steps: a computer/laptop and a mini-USB to USB cable.

Instructions:

1. Locate the mini-USB port on the bottom right side of the VW3A1111 keypad and plug in the cable.

2. Connect the cable using a mini USB to USB cable to an available USB port on the PC. The PC should recognize the keypad as an external storage device.

3. Format the keypad.

4. Download the Language files from this link:

http://www.schneider-electric.com/en/download/document/Languages_Drives_VW3A1111/Country Selector | Schneider Electric Global

5. Copy and paste the folders KPCONF and LANG from the package into the Keypad.

Keep in mind that sometimes the LANG folder takes up more memory than what is available on the keypad. If you get an insufficient storage space error when copying the files, please delete some of the language packages located in the LANG folder.

Please be sure the "Fonts.ums" and "en_labels" are copied for English.

6. Connect the keypad to the VFD again.
